Betamox LA is a long-acting amoxicillin (150 mg/ml, as trihydrate) oily suspension for injection, licensed for cattle, sheep, pigs, dogs and cats.
- For infections caused by amoxicillin-sensitive organisms where a single long-acting injection is wanted
- Infections of the digestive tract, respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, and urogenital tract
- Protection against secondary bacterial infection
- Prevention of post-operative infection when given before surgery
- Not effective against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria
Directions for use: 15 mg per kg bodyweight (1 ml per 10 kg), repeatable if necessary after 48 hours. Cattle, sheep and pigs: intramuscular injection only. Dogs and cats: subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. Divide doses over 20 ml between two sites. Shake before use.
